The Ghost Bike Ride from August 14th

Video from Saturday’s Ghost Bike Ride where over 100 cyclists from riding groups across WNY showed up this morning to mourn the loss of Trevor Friedly. Trevor, whose sole means of transportation was his bicycle, was out riding last Friday, lights on, in a bike lane, when a reckless driver on Fillmore Avenue hit and killed him. Despicably, that coward behind the wheel left the scene.

We stopped at City Hall on our way to the ghost bike installation to demand city leadership’s attention and action to condemn this summer’s traffic violence and develop solutions.

With thanks to Go Bike Buffalo and all the groups and riders who joined us. This is truly what community looks like.

We are grateful for the media support to help keep the issue of road safety for all in the news. See our Facebook page to see reports from WGRZ and WIVB.
