This week was a relaxing 16.5 miles ride to see some of the beautiful outdoor flower displays at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. We visited some of their wonderful displays outside and got a look at the progress of their ongoing construction and renovation. The Botanical Gardens are a kindred spirit as they have been lending time, effort and floral contributions to Freedom Park, a place so very important to many of us in the East Side Bike Club.

After leaving the Gardens, we wound our way through the Ship Canal Park and through a bit of the Outer Harbor on our way back to MLK Park (with a surprise refueling stop at Monty’s on Swan Street, where some of the riders refueled with pastelitos).

The sky was even happy to see us. Can’t ask for a better cycling omen than that. It was a great day to be with our cycling family. Join us next week!
